t-úafás eile. Dheineamar an-sheachtain go deo!
We recently celebrated "Kindness Week" the week leading up to our mid-term break in February. As a school we engaged in loads of wonderful activities to celebrate this special week. We had guest speakers in to talk to us, to share their knowledge with us, and to inspire us to be kind to each other (and indeed to ourselves). We had a nutritionist in to talk to us about the importance of healthy eating, and an inspirational gentleman and athlete in to talk to us about the importance of staying fit and taking care of our physical bodies. A man who is running 32 marathons, in 32 different counties, in 32 consecutive days all while carrying 32 pounds on his back in order to raise much needed funds for the charity "Pieta House". He had us all spellbound listening to him so much so that poor Múinteoir Nioclás had to bring his talk to an end much to everyone's disappointment. As a school we ran a marathon one day, practiced 10 at 10 every day (and enjoyed it so much that we have resolved to keep it up until the end of the year any day we can do it)! We practiced Mindfulness, Yoga (which we have been doing with the last 6 weeks) and some wonderful parents came in chop up fruit for us all to try. We designed posters for "Kindness Week" (a couple of samples to be seen below) and lots more besides. A wonderful week all round!
