Lá Clárúcháin/ Open Registration

Beidh Lá clárúcháin againn ar an 14ú lá de Feabhra ó 2 go 3i.n. Tá fáilte roimh thuismitheoirí go bhfuil suim acu a bpáistí a chlárú i nGaelscoil Dhroichead na Banndan.

We will be holding an Open Registration in the school on Tuesday, February 14th from 2-3pm. All parents/guardians of new and perspective pupils are invited to attend. All classes will finish at 1.40pm on this day.

Imeachtaí Iarscoile / Afterschool Activities

Five weeks of afterschool activities will begin after the February mid-term break (Monday-Thursday) from 2:50pm-3:50pm. Activities will be open to pupils from Rang 3-Rang 6.

Places are limited for each club.
Each club requires a separate Google form to be completed.

Google forms will be sent out early next week and anyone interested in participating in any of the clubs need to complete the form by Friday, February 3rd. Full payment is required in advance for the full five weeks for each club and can be paid directly to the teacher on week one.
Allocated places will be notified directly to the pupil by the teacher organising the club before the mid-term break.
Please note there is no charge for football training but any pupils from Rang 3-Rang 6 interested in participating on Tuesday football training are also required to fill in the Google form in advance.

Cispheil / Basketball
Afterschool basketball club for pupils in Rang 3-Rang 6 will start on Mondays and will run for five weeks. Dates as follows:

Traenáil Peile / Football training
Beidh traenáil peile ag tosnú ar an Máirt, an 21ú lá de Feabhra.
Afterschool football training from Rang a 3 up to Rang a 6 will start on Tuesdays

Tuesday March 7th
Tuesday March 14th
Tuesday March 21st

Beidh an club STEM ar siúl gach Céadaoin do pháistí i Rang a 3 – Rang a 6 ar na dátaí thíos.
Afterschool Stem club from Rang a 3 up to Rang a 6 will start on Wednesdays.

Club Ealaíne / Art Club

Beidh Tráth na gCeist á eagrú ag Coiste na dTuismitheoirí don Aoine, an 10ú lá de Feabhra sa Copper Grove. Ba mhór againn bhur dtacaíocht. Aon airgead a bhaileofar ar an oíche rachaidh sé chun leasa na scoile.

The Parents’ Association would like to thank everyone who supported the Christmas Draw and Bag Pack.
We are holding a Table Quiz in the Copper Grove on Friday 10th Feb. at 8.30pm. Tables (€40 team of 4) can be pre-booked: (087) 621 8368.
There will be a raffle on the night with a selection of prizes. Raffle tickets will also be available in the yard (€2 each or €5 for 3) after school on Thur. 9th/Fri. 10th.

Club Fichille / Chess Club

Tá an Club Fichille críochnaithe anois. Beidh comórtas fichille ar siúl ar an 13ú de Feabhra sa halla CLG anseo i nDroichead na Banndan. Guímid gach rath orthusan a bheidh ag glacadh páirte ann.

After school Chess Club has now finished. The chess tournament which was scheduled for Thursday, January 26th was postponed and will now be played on February 13th during school hours.

Vex Robotics

Comhghairdeachas ó chroí le Múinteoir Maitiú agus cailíní agus buachaillí Rang a Sé a ghlac páirt sa chomórtas Vex Robotics le déanaí in MTU. Guímíd gach rath ar an bhfoireann sa chéad bhabhta eile ar an 23ú de Feabhra.

Congratulations to Rang 6 and Muinteoir Maitiú who took part in the vex robotics competition in MTU on January 17th. We are delighted to say our school successfully got through to the next round of the competition which will take place on February, 23rd in MTU Cork.

Coirm Drámaíochta- Feis Maitiú

Beidh na Naíonáin Mhóra, Rang a 1 agus Rang a 2 ag glacadh páirte i bhFeis Maitiú. Is í Catherine ó CADA a bheidh i mbun ullmhúcháin leo.

Naíonáin Mhóra, Rang a 1 and Rang a 2 will be taking part in the upcoming Feis Maitiú which will take place in late Spring. We are delighted to have Catherine Mahon Buckley from Cada to assist with preparations.

Gabhaimid buíochas le Alan ón FAI as teacht isteach lena chomhghleacaí Peter chun scileanna agus druilleanna nua sacair a mhúineadh do pháistí Rang a 4 agus a 5. Bhain siad an-taitneamh as.

A big thank you to Alan from FAI who facilitated us with a soccer workshop for classes in Rang 4 and Rang 5.

Leadóg/Tennis

Tá leadóg tosnaithe arís le Múinteoir Alan gach Céadaoin. Meabhraímid do na ranganna an culaith spóirt a chaitheamh ar an lá seo.

Tennis with Múinteoir Alan has started on Wednesdays and will continue to run up until the February mid-term.

Gleacaíocht / Gymnastics

Tá ceachtanna gleacaíochta le Múinteoir Sinéad tosnaithe ar an Máirt do ranganna na Naíonán suas go Rang a 2. Leanfar leis na hardranganna i ndiaidh an bhrisidh leath-théarma.

Gymnastics with Sinead has started on Tuesdays for Junior Infants-Rang 2 and will continue up until February mid-term. Classes from Rang 3-Rang 6 will start Gymnastics with Sinead on Tuesdays after the February mid-term.
